Technology Ideas

  • Create a class poetry multimedia presentation. Use a multimedia tool such as Animoto, Microsoft PhotoStory, iMovie, PowerPoint, Prezi or Glogster EDU, etc. (If desired, illustrate or decorate with photos from Bavaria.)
  • Create a class multimedia slideshow on forgiveness. Share in church.
  • Create an annotated Google Earth map of locations mentioned in the book.
  • Episode 6, Forgiveness: Provides movie clips that illustrate forgiveness. Includes teacher lesson plans and study guides. Available for purchase or via streaming video for about $2 per student.
  • Create a brochure using Microsoft Publisher about Bavaria. Teacher can decide what criteria they want students to put in the brochure. Some ideas are: history, culture, tourist locations, food, etc.
  • Contact the Adventist University in Germany and see if they might have a student who would be willing to Skype with your students. You'll have to connect in the early morning.

  • Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal. Review and Herald Publishing, 1985. One copy will be needed for every student or group of students.

  • In order to enhance the students vocabulary and reading comprehension use Wordly Wise 3000 books.

Technology Ideas

  • Create a class multimedia presentation from the comparison between Mennonites and Adventists; or the Sabbath/Christmas preparations comparison. Share in church. Use a multimedia tool such as Animoto, Microsoft PhotoStory, iMovie, PowerPoint, Prezi or Glogster EDU, etc.
  • Create a wikispace featuring DOLs, Sticky-note discussions, vocabulary, timeline, comparison charts, and other related activities. Example by Ellen Lazo: Days of Terror
  • Connect via Skype to an Adventist school in Indiana or southern Michigan who were able to take a field trip to Mennohof in Shipshewana, IN. Have them tell about what they learned (preferably with pictures!).
  • Create an annotated Google Earth map of locations mentioned in the book.
